Have an SE that I might go for. His asking price is a little out of my price range but not by much.
Hopefully he'll drop fingers crossed.

Well worked out the funds and just couldn't afford the SE so put a deposit On a nice 04 950.
I'll buy an SE next year and use the adv as a daily runner.

Re: So you want to own a KTM 950 Super Enduro?
My last bike was a KTM Super Enduro R and I loved it!! but due to wife logic (worked near home so didn't need it as a commuter, too scared to use it off road-mainly as I didn't want to damage it!! and we needed a new car
) it was sold, I still yearn for the thrill of SE ownership and now that I've changed jobs NEED a SE for the daily commute and for some green lane fun, but wifey is the fly in the ointment, anyone know of a cheap assassin???

Re: So you want to own a KTM 950 Super Enduro?
Hi everyone.
Did anyone ever find out how many SE's were actually made?
Normally if a manufacturer wants to enter a product (car or bike) into a race or competition they have to homologate the car by producing at least 500 of that particular style.
The Sierra cosworth RS500 was essentially a Sierra cosworth with bigger turbo, intercooler and other trinkets (only 500 of these were built) it was built to dominate touring cars which is probably what KTM had to do to compete in the erzberg rally??
if it were 200 it wouldn't be classed as a "production bike" until they made 500
I think 5000 is a bit too many. I have only ever seen my bike. My Ktm dealer has seen 2 including mine and I think there are roughly 170 registered in the UK
hopefully if it was only 500 the prices of the SE should stay steady with high demand and not much supply.
Have a great Xmas all
Cheers

Re: So you want to own a KTM 950 Super Enduro?
Ahh the great unanswered question! Despite efforts no reply from ktm, no surprise there.
Allegedly it was made for the Dakar before they put the cc limit in place so they would have to have produced 500. We know for sure this was a special licence from the eu to pass emissions, last of the carbed v-twins.
From what I've read all were produced in the same run, each market got 150-200 bikes but what markets remains a mystery. So by my thinking there could be a thousand bikes. Or 500 or 5000....
All I know is it's the best bike I've owned or ridden.
We are pretty lucky to have one.
Sent using something I'm not sure about..
