Finally purchased an SE

Post by Eric » Fri Dec 09, 2016 11:55 pm

So three and a half years ago now I signed up and was looking at an se in the uk as a possible purchase. Just as I was about to pull the trigger it got sold and I ended up buying a 950 adv s.

I have loved the bike. Had great time and great memories so far in 55,000kms of use so far. Anyway I have no intention of selling the adv s and had no intention of buying another bike, but for the first time since the last se,one has come up for sale and this time I couldn't miss out.

It was made in 2007 but brought to a dealer in 2008. It had a uk owner in Scotland and was purchased by him in June 2008.
It was imported to ireland by a lad I know who wanted a good se. It was services by Ktm at 2500 miles by the first owner and it was bought by Nick with 5000kms approx on the clock.
It was services again at 10,000kms by Nick himself.
I bought it today from Nick with just 13,000kms approx on the clock.
It as Akraprovic end cans and anodised break, clutch and rear break covers. Other then that it's an original bike. I get all the original parts with it to.

It has no outstanding recalls etc so really happy with the purchase.
I'm the third owner.

So what simple fix is there to the VRR? The one on this bike is in the original location. What have you guys done?

A few options, and the best one is using the bits from a 2012 990 SMR. Costs about £20 only and is very simple. I'm a bit bandwidth limited where I am right now, but can share part numbers when somewhere with a better connection.

Other options exist, as does make your own.

Get the VRR relocation kit that mounts the original VRR on the left side of the frame, no cutting or splicing of the wiring needed, just bolt the plate and the VRR and reroute the cables there. Got the kit from MotoVenture, just send him a message on Fb
