Nuube OWNER!! needs to prevent pelvic remoddeling (new seaat neeeded)

Post by Nickbec1 » Fri May 12, 2017 6:38 pm

Hi Guys was a wannabe now new owner of a lovely SE Yeehaa!! however all is not quite right am using the bike for commuting to work and back 140miles round trip and am a little frustrated with feeling like my pelvis needs remodelling can anyone recommend a good comfortable seat for long journies or even better have one to sell I am open to options as everything else is brilliant with the new lady in my life (so the wife calls her) I don't really want to spring for a brand new Saddlemen without knowing if they are all they make them out to be.

Any advice or guidance will be VERY gratefully received ( or if you have one to sell please get in touch)

Cheers

Nick

I have three solutions for you to consider in order of increasing cost:

1- Airhawk medium size - simply put, it works very well on any seat provided you don't overinflate it. It adds some overall height so if you're vertically challenged, be aware otherwise it gives you the added benefit of adding distance between your hips and the footpegs, resulting in a more relaxed knee angle to boot

2- Seat Concepts seat kit - be prepared to DIY...with a staple gun...a very good solution that looks great as well. Provides a flatter, softer section for where you'd sit for commutes and keeps the front end nice and narrow so you can easily move into attack mode. Totally weatherproof and nice grippy top material

3- Renazco Rackng seat from America available in a number of material choices including a very sexy black suede that eventually fades into a yucky dark brown suede from UV rays. Honestly, there's nothing better than this. It's the Rolls Royce of seats unless you're really into that "save my man-gland prostate centre cavity" solution of the Saddleman. I rode a bike with one of them once, seemed comfy, I didn't like the look or the price...in fact, I really didn't like the look at all

Hope this helps and congrats on the purchase - don't dare sell it as you'll just join the illustrious group of ex-SE owners who will forever resent themselves for selling...

Pradon my ignorance but does polishing your diamond mean the same as tossing off?

Ha ha no
Meaning the bike is the diamond and although it's perfect there's some edges need work to make make it perfect for a fussy old git like me

Fourht option. Buy powercell or SM tank, which goes with ktm SM ergo seat. By the way, on my journey to Alps, i used stock seat with Airhawk pillion small pad added

I think SM tanks are fairly regularly available in Europe...it's definitely a bit of a different look but both add capacity. I've gone to a 2in1 exhaust on mine so I can add fuel out back but haven't decided which direction to go: the Rottweiler tank or something I make locally if I can find the time. The Powercell is an expensive option if you have to import it to the UK given the shipping and import duties, no?

Congrats on the purchase mate, seemed like right place right time :)

Been thinking about getting these guys to do mine, they can recover in stock trim, lower it or customise it. Gelastic inserts all the way!!

http://www.motorbike-seats.co.uk
Shit site but good reputation

then there is Sargent noting on KTM but I bet they could do something, wont be cheap
http://www.sargentcycle.co.uk/ had one on my blackbird omfg was it good....

Or saddle craft, big in the custom world could be worth a shot as they do gel inserts.

Good luck and keep us posted, the next thing to do on mine, tempted with the saddleman but v expensive with shipping and duty to here.
