New member from Romania

Post by solon » Sat Nov 04, 2017 6:38 pm

Greetings from Romania. I have owned my SE for some time now, bought it 2 years ago for 55000 Euro at 14500 km, now 23000 km.
Looked brand new when bought, has now plenty of scratches and marks from using it what it was meant for, so no regrets for any sign of wear. Pretty standard, only scott steering damper with top yoke and 2in1 exhaust Akrapovic.
I've just created my account here, and I'm happy to find a community of SE, as mine is the only one in my country.
Definitely the best bike I've ever owned!

Fantastic - looks like beautiful riding, it's on my list as well.

Sounds like you got the bike for a fantastic deal given their current market prices - good job !

Thank you for the offer - it's definitely on my list. I hope you don't mind the selfish plug but I noticed that you're carrying that box on top of your bike and the SE subframe is a known weakness. There are three choices really: don't carry any weight on it, remove it and weld it with aluminium reinforcements or use my Tripleclamp moto (there's the selfishness) subframe reinforcement which we now ship from the UK duty free to all of Europe.

https://www.tripleclampmoto.com/product ... nt-bracket

Have a look but do figure out what you want to do as many, many people have broken their subframes at the worst times and in extreme cases, it doesn't just crack, it breaks and the rear tyre sucks in the back of the bike with the tail light and under seat plastics leaving you stuck.

Thanks for the offer, It's not about selfishness, it's help :), and a little marketing doesn't kill anyone :D . I know about that weakness, I avoid carrying too much load in the top box. However, If I ever decide to go touring on this bike and need to pack a lot of weight, I will look for some reinforcement and your solution may be what I need.
