In terms of the aftermarket options, there are safari tanks and powercell; both offering immense increases of capacity over the original tank but the powercell requires using a seat from an 950/990SM. The other option is to change your tank for one from a 950SM (and a few of the mounting bits on the frame) as well as the SM seat and this will net you a few extra (nearly four more) litres - all three of these options are bolt on and require nothing but parts and some of your time and effort. Apart from that, there are auxiliary tank options such as simple ones like carrying a one gallon Rorotpax container on the tail or using a 2-1 exhaust pipe section and adding any of the fuel tank options for the left side which is where you eliminate the second exhaust muffler from. Let me know if you need more details in whichever approach is most attractive to you.

As for adding a lock mechanism to the seat, this too can be accomplished by using a lock mechanism from a 950/990SM, SMR, SMT or Adventure - you just need to decide where you want to install the actual lock mechanism (key barrel) as the adventure incorporates it into the left side fairing and it is located on the actual tail extension on the other bikes. On my 990smr, I elected to make my own tail tidy and eliminate the rear tail extension so I had to relocate my actual key barrel and found a company in Germany who supplies an extended cable and various mounts that allowed me to relocate the lock barrel onto the left side, close to where the original 950SE seat release latch exists.
